![]() Reisman has a higher, smoother release and is very confident in catch-and-shoot situations, and he’s got a long, athletic frame which should make him a capable defender once he hits a collegiate weight room. Vreeswyk, the son of former Temple standout (and the team’s coach) Mike Vreeswyk, does a terrific job of setting his feet quickly and squaring to the hoop when coming off screens, and isn’t afraid to attack aggressive close-outs. ![]() Missed the first few minutes, so I don’t have exact statistics, but the Power were boosted by strong shooting performances by a pair of 6-3 guards––George School’s Jack Vreeswyk (23 points) and Penn Charter’s Aaron Reisman (20 points), who each hit six 3s in the win. Started the morning watching East Coast Power’s 17U Vreeswyk squad take home an 86-52 win over one of the NY Lightning teams. Here are some (chronological) notes and thoughts from the action I’ll have a little feature story with quotes about the area’s most successful sneaker squad up a bit later on. Watched five sets’ worth of hoops, including an in-depth look at the East Coast Power’s 17s and 16s, a 16U Philly-area shoe-sponsored team battle, and another solid game between two teams stocked with regional small-college talent. Spent a good portion of Saturday morning/afternoon beating the heat (kind of) at Competitive Edge Sports, which played host to a Zero Gravity Basketball tournament/showcase event this weekend.
